What is Rooted?

When is Rooted?
Three sessions a year
We offer Rooted three times a year: in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Each session includes a large group kick‑off, ten weekly group meetings, a prayer experience, a serve experience and a large group celebration.

Our one ask
Be there for your group
Rooted is a 10-week commitment that’s worth your investment. If you know you’ll miss more than two meetings, we recommend waiting for the next session so you get the full experience. Because it’s a community experience, we ask everyone to honor their group by being present for every meeting.
Rooted is a 10‑week discipleship experience and a catalyst for life change. It sparks questions, conversations and group experiences designed to give you a glimpse of your story in God’s story. Whether you’re new to following Jesus or have walked with Him for years, Rooted will help you truly live as His disciple.
A group of people committed to walking alongside and encouraging each other through the whole experience. Each week your group meets to talk about the daily devotional reading and reflection in your Rooted book. You’ll also share a prayer experience, a serve experience and a celebration together. The questions are thought‑provoking, and they’ll push you to go deeper as you seek to see God as He really is.
Once registration opens for the next session, you can sign up online. The registration fee is $20 per person to cover materials. If the fee is a burden, we’re happy to provide a scholarship. Just email rooted@newstorychurch.com.
If you miss week one, your leader will contact you and you can still join your group. For the best experience, we recommend missing no more than two weeks. If your schedule means you’ll miss more than two, feel free to jump in when the next session starts.
We know Rooted is a big time commitment, but we believe the whole journey is worth it. If you know you’ll miss more than two meetings, we ask that you wait for the next session. The ten weeks build on each other, so we ask everyone to honor their group by being at every meeting.
We prayerfully form groups from the information on your registration, by age, marital status and life stage. We form groups of married couples, singles (by gender), women, men, young adults and college students. The final groups depend on who registers.
You’ll receive your Rooted book at the Rooted Launch kick‑off, or from your leader before it.
